ECEPTS’ Role as an Intermediary: Supporting National Expansion of ECE Registered Apprenticeships

In July 2023, ECEPTS was awarded a contract from the USDOL Office of Apprenticeship to serve as a national Industry Intermediary for ECE. The contract expands ECEPTS’ capacity to provide training and technical assistance in developing and expanding Registered Apprenticeships (RA) to meet the workforce development needs of the diverse ECE workforce. This Deep Dive will examine the role of ECE Industry Intermediaries and clarify the kinds of support and resources available to new and existing ECE RA initiatives.

ECEPTS Youth Apprenticeships: Earn-and-Learn Pathways to Building the Future ECE Workforce

Youth Apprenticeships provide work-based learning, paid employment, college credit, and industry-recognized credentials. Upon completion, participants are qualified for entry level positions in ECE programs. They are also eligible to enter Registered Apprenticeships leading to college degrees, better wages, and positions of greater responsibility in ECE and other fields (social services, education, health care).
